Child Support -V- Animal support

As with most people I like dogs and cats, I also like children. I was watching TV and again I see where the ASPCA is advertising people to send in $18.00 a month on their credit cards to support the dogs and cats they have. I agree with this good deed performed by most people and with Willy Nelson singing "You Are Always on My Mind", and the voice of a lady singing "The First time I Ever Saw Your Face" it is very touching. By the way you will get a photo of that animal, how touching

When a great star like Willy Nelson and this lady singer does a commercial for the dogs and cats, it makes me wonder who or what is more important to that person.

I support World Vision, Feed the Children who for only $34.00 a month can save a child from hunger and give that child an education as well as clothe him or her. I wish one of the big time stars we made would offer to do the same for these children that World Vision and Feed the Children are attempting to save.

If you ask do I support these children, the answer is yes; in fact I have four and love them all very much, No I don’t get to hug them but can feel there appreciation when I get a letter and a photo from their mother and father who cannot do any better that they do. I can feel the frustration in their hearts when they have to say we don’t have any food for you or clothing to put on your back. What about a warm bed with covers or clean water, I was also very poor and I was only able to get a 2nd grade education until 2006 when I got my GED, I also lived on the street at one time.

The dogs and cats get a warm place and a bed and clean water and food fed to them three times a day because of all the people who support them. I believe most of the money spent for the animals goes to administration and the rest is to feed the animals.

It is my opinion the dogs and cats that get $18.00 a month could care less about who send in the money that support them I also don’t believe it takes $18.00 a month when all the money is put together to buy food for the animals at one time. Can you make an evaluation as to what or who is worth more?

A child on the other hand getting $34.00 a month is just enough to get by on, that includes food, water, clothing and a bed to sleep in.

I get photo’s of the Children I support showing me the food and clothing that was purchased because of an extra $75.00 I saved to send to the World Vision to get for them, the happiness I see in their eyes is over whelming with appreciation.

My request to you is if you’re going to support a dog or cat for $18.00 a month then at least have enough respect for a child and send in $34.00 a month to World Vision or Feed the children and then you will get something back that will show how much your support is appreciated. Have a heart and support a child, times are hard but a little sharing will go a long way, it may save a Childs life and one day you may get to see the end results. The education provided will possible return a great Doctor that will save a life, a Cook that will cook for you, a Policeman or Fireman that will lay his life down for you.    The end results are worth every penny you send.

I will admit, I am sick of the ASPCA commercials that appear to make people think the animals are more important that Children and put this guilt trip on the people to get that $18.00 a month from  the people that do like animals, it seem like they care more for the animals than the Children who can make a change in the world.
